Axel Drougge
Axel Drougge is a 18 year old Swedish violinist. He
began studying the violin at the age of six and has earlier been tutored by Tobias Andersson, Joel Nyman and Jörgen Svensson. Since 2023 Axel is
studying for Tale Olsson in Stockholm. Axel is currently educated at Nordiska Musikgymnasiet, Stockholm.
He has been awarded 1 prize at Det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatoriums Juniorkonkurrence in 2020, 2021 and 2022. Awarded youth scholarships 2024 and 2025 from The Royal Academy of Music, Stockholm. Axel was appointed Bergslagen Soloist 2025, playing Max Bruch violin concerto no 1 with Bergslagen Chamber Symphony Orchestra conducted by Glenn Mossop.
Axel was invited to participate at Kallkursen in 2019 and 2020, and at Stråklandslaget in Falun Sweden in 2021 and 2022. He is a member of The Filialen Orchestra in Stockholm. Concertmaster at YOMA Summer Academy 2025 playing Sibelius Symphony No 2 in Helsingborg Concert Hall. In september 2025 Axel was invited to play Max Bruch violin concerto no 1 with The Filialen Symphony Orchestra conducted by Simon Crawford-Phillips at Musikaliska, Stockholm.
Axel is awarded the 2026 Guido Vecchi Scholarship, performing at a concert in Gothenburg Concert Hall January 2026.
His favourite composers are Bach, Beethoven and Mendelssohn. He performs on a violin made by Gottfrid Nilsson, Malmö, 1931. Axel is looking forward to the coming years and is striving to be a professional violinist in the future.
