Axel Drougge
Axel Drougge (b. 2007) is an 18-year-old Swedish violinist. He began studying the violin at the age of six and has previously been tutored by Tobias Andersson, Joel Nyman, and Jörgen Svensson. Since 2023, Axel has been studying with Tale Olsson, First Concertmaster at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm. He is currently a student at Nordiska Musikgymnasiet in Stockholm.
Axel has been awarded First Prize at the Det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium Juniorkonkurrence in 2020, 2021, and 2022, and received Youth Scholarships from the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm in 2024 and 2025. In 2025, he was appointed Bergslags Soloist, performing Max Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 with the Bergslagen Chamber Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Glenn Mossop.
He has participated in Kallkursen (2019–2020) and Stråklandslaget in Falun (2021–2022). Axel served as concertmaster at the YOMA Summer Academy 2025, performing Sibelius's Symphony No. 2 at the Helsingborg Concert Hall, and later that year performed Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 with The Filialen Symphony Orchestra conducted by Simon Crawford-Phillips at Musikaliska in Stockholm.
He has taken lessons and masterclasses with prominent teachers including Martin Funda, Stefan Fehlandt, Per Enoksson, Johan Dalene, Ava Bahari, Alf Richard Kraggerud, Christian Svarfvar and Judith Ingolfsson. In 2026 Axel was awarded the prestigious Guido Vecchi Scholarship and performed at the Gothenburg Concert Hall.
Axel performs on a violin made by Gottfrid Nilsson (Malmö, 1931) and is dedicated to achieve a professional career as a violinist.
